Actuarial and technical advisory services

Our actuarial and technical advisory services division consists of a small team of actuaries with a wealth of knowledge, resources and experience. Our actuaries provide consulting services and strategic advice to medical schemes.

Our actuarial team also performs valuations to calculate the value of medical aid subsidies, long-service awards and gratuities promised to employees. These liabilities arise from legal or moral obligations to provide medical scheme contribution subsidies, benefits or both to current and former employees in retirement. We cater to more than 160 clients who require post-employment healthcare liability valuations each year. These valuations are performed in terms of various accounting standards, including IAS19 and FAS106.

HMS, in partnership with Life EHS, offers a confidential, short-term counselling service at competitive and flexible prices.
