- These emails may include altered banking details or invoices.
- The scam is designed to redirect legitimate payments to fraudulent accounts.
What you can do:
- Verify all payment instructions sent to Alexforbes, especially if banking details have changed.
- Enable multi-factor authentication on your email accounts to reduce the risk of compromise.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect your email has been compromised or if you notice any suspicious activity.
It has come to our attention that certain entities are falsely claiming to act on behalf of Alexforbes in relation to the recovery of unclaimed pension benefits and surplus funds. These entities are contacting members of pension funds and offering to trace and recover unpaid benefits for a fee.
Please be advised that Alexforbes will never ask you for money to process a claim.
We do not authorise third parties to act on our behalf in this manner, as we prefer to engage directly with our clients.
For any queries or concerns, please contact us directly or our toll-free whistle blowing line 0800 006 656 should you wish to remain anonymous.
